Diabetes Care Certification Classes
For senior residence staff or Workshops to improve the health and lives of People with Diabetes.
I provide annual Diabetes and insulin Care Certification (DCC) classes for Medicine Technician certification and other medical staff interested in updating their diabetes care knowledge.
Classes take about an hour. I demonstrate proper techniques for:
- Glucometer blood sugar checks and what numbers mean
- Injection techniques for the various insulins and medications
- CGM applications
- Overall diabetes knowledge including hydration, diet and activity
We use injection pads and a variety of samples attendees can feel, hold and practice.
The class is held more like a discussion than a lecture with lots of questions and answers so I can understand that your staff understands all the information and can use the various meters and pens confidently.
There is an Exam and a Certificate.
We go over the results to be certain there is no confusion or questions.
The participants feel confident in Diabetes Care. I dislike “trick questions” and make sure everyone fully understands the material.
